I've put some new mix packs in the shop. I'll do some more with a mixture of old and new fabrics later on. Enjoy!

Daisy Bird
Daisies
Laundry BirdsBit exciting! The lovely printer emailed this morning and my fabric was ready waaaay before I expected it! Lara put me on to her printer which is also where Bianca and Shannon get their fabric printed.
I whizzed out there and grabbed them while the kids slept. I've taken a few pics to show you. I'll put the fabric in my shop in a few minutes. When I get a chance I'll put together a few mix packs.
So happy with these!

Gocco tree

Kids are in bed and I have a few minutes to myself. So I finally made some prints using my new gocco! I use the term 'new' loosely... I actually bought it over a year ago when I had a four week old baby, but when I first tried to use it my fuzzy brain was unable to comprehend the instructions... Honestly - I have trouble reading a manual on a good day!
About a month ago I started this project. First drawing a picture. Another day making the master. Tonight I have actually printed something! Quite happy with the result too!

The design was too fine to use the ink blockers so some of the yellow bled into the trees, but I quite like how that turned out too!
It's nice to finish the day with something to show for it!Tuesday, 27 May 2008
Warm necks and musings
I was delighted to find a little entry about pippijoe on modamuse today! Actually I think it was posted yesterday, just took me a while to find out! Modamuse showcases modern australian and new zealand designers so it's a bit of a thrill to be included!

I made a few more scarves last night too. A couple will be gifts, but I have posted 2 in the shop to see how they go... Anyway, I love wearing mine, the velvet is so cosy and warm! Especially on cold days like today!

Russian everywhere!
These are my matryoshka dolls. I bought them at the Salamanca Markets last time I was in Hobart. I feel like I've been seeing these dolls everywhere recently!Cute little hairclips from magpies nest... just need my 18month old to grow some hair...
Absolutely gorgeous doll from little red caboose. I'm hoping to get my hands on one of these very soon...Wednesday, 21 May 2008
Bag Ladies
Michelle from up the street dropped in today to show me TWO bags she made using my buds fabric. I think they look gorgeous! She used contrasting fabrics in combination for the strap and pockets and some pretty wooden buttons to finish it off.Pretty clever lady!

Cold Day

I woke up this morning and could feel winter. A cold in the head and a wet sleety day outside made me think I needed a new scarf. I raced out and bought some black velvet before going to a friend's place for a big sunday roast. Nice.

Came home, cut, sewed.
A patchwork of three designs backed with black velvet. Very pleased!

The Blues

I've been digging through my box of scraps and sketches for inspiration. I was looking for something but haven't found it yet.
They all looked so pretty spread across the floor, but the photo doesn't do them justice. Need to invest in a new camera - or take a photography course... Isn't it all about the light?
Still deciding on the designs for the next print run, I came up with a new one yesterday that might be the first one... It's funny how you can struggle for ideas for so long then suddenly the gates open and they flood through!

Mixed up
Being all new to this online craftiness and stuff, I'm discovering all these things I never knew existed!! In the mail I received my first copy of mixtape which is full of crafty goodness! This is their one year anniversary edition so I've missed a whole year of creativity, but I'm going to curl up now while the house is quiet and have a proper read!Wednesday, 7 May 2008
Fruit Box
I don't know whether it's because I collect stuff, or (some might think) am a *little* messy... but I've made another container, this time a fabric box using the nests. It's beside me on my desk waiting for things I might gather up in my travels... you know, like this fruit...
We found it in the gardens at Heide on saturday. I've seen them before but have never seen the plant. No idea what it is, but it looks amazing!Tuesday, 6 May 2008
Fish and Flappers

I've been sketching up some new designs... I was trying to do some patterns with a naive twist and they have become quite stylised.

Staying with the aquatic theme, I remember years ago in San Francisco I saw sand dollars on the beach. I thought they were amazing things and they inspired this pattern:

Gallery & accessories
Off to the gallery at Heide this afternoon. Sunny at the moment so we'd better make the most of it! Wearing a new leather bangle from my sister emily! She's the one sister left in Brisbane and makes very gorgeous jewellery! Lucky me!
